About
The Festival Players
The Festival Players is a theatre company based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. Formed in 1954, over 200 productions were presented at the lovely art deco theatre of Stanford Hall before it closed in 2004. After a temporary stay at the Cope Auditorium, the society made Loughborough Town Hall its home in 2009 with a sell-out performance of Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca.
In recent years the group has performed as many as five times a year but in 2022 plan on presenting three plays only during the months of February, June and September at Loughborough Town Hall. Recent productions include The History Boys, Calendar Girls, The Odd Couple, Blood Brothers, Macbeth, Noises Off, One Man, Two Guvnors, Goodnight Mister Tom, Equus, The Dresser, The Vicar of Dibley and The Railway Children. You can discover more about previous plays, including images, on the Past Productions page.
The Society is unique in Loughborough as the owner of extensive rehearsal rooms and premises on Burder Street (near Loughborough Railway Station). Here plays are developed and rehearsed and all scenery manufactured and stored. In addition, we own a large stock of costumes and props to meet the challenges of a full repertoire of dramas, comedies and thrillers to suit all tastes.
